A Beautiful Grind Studio

ABG is a no-frills facility that bustles 24/7 with thumping walls and dish-rattling bass. Producers, rappers, and musicians bang out beats, verses, and hooks in this breeding ground for Chicago’s thriving west side rap community. Most nights, the stripper poles merely glisten under the glow of dim recording equipment. But when the time is right, and when the occasion is special, those poles come alive. That’s when the magic happens. And you can hear that magic loud and clear on Ghetto Superstars.

BIGG BABY

Taking a break from his 24/7 gig as head of ABG operations, Bigg Baby got back into the booth- rapping with restrained authority and calming wisdom he acquired as a label boss, session producer, and tour manager for some of the biggest names in modern rap. Bigg Baby lives by his credo, “If you gonna hustle, betta hustle hard. If you gonna play, betta play hard.” On this project, he reunites with his longtime out west homie and creative collaborator, Emone Quadeem. Commanding respect but never taking himself too seriously, Bigg Baby raps with joy and dignity about living the daily grind as a real Ghetto Superstar.

EMONE QUADEEM
Life got real for EQ at a young age when his brother was murdered and his sister was born with a rare, life-threatening disease. Growing up in Chicago’s west side “L Town” neighborhood, EQ’s tragic family events and his crime-ridden surroundings inspired him to record and release some of the most introspective rap to emerge from Chicago in years. On “The Grind is Still Beautiful” and “True to My Name” he was an itty bitty rapper with a lot to get off his chest. Now, his focus is steady. He’s an established recording artist, a proud father of 2, and a cannabis entrepreneur. On this release, EQ re-upped with Bigg Baby for a project that’s destined for greatness, making him a true Ghetto Superstar.
